PORING HOT SPRING KINABALU PARK SABAH

Main Entrance of  Poring Hot Springs
Facts : Poring is a small town 19km east of Ranau and 39km east of Mount Kinabalu in the state of Sabah in MalaysiaIt is mainly visited for the Poring Hot Spring and Nature Reserve which houses both open-air and private cabin baths whose water contains sulphur that is known for its skin-curative properties. The natural hot spring is perfect to soothe tired and aching muscles after the long climb up Mount Kinabalu.

How to get in there ? Public buses from Kinabalu Park are available but make only one trip daily. Alternatively take a taxi from Ranau at about RM30 for the ride (thus, travelling in a group this can be cheap). From Ranau there are very few, if any, public buses making the run to Poring. For those who are self-driving, the Hot Springs are accessible via Ranau. The road is sealed with adequate sign posting. There is ample free parking inside the main entrance. An entrance fee is charged to visit the Hot Spring Park. If you think this place has the feeling of your basic tourist trap, it is a tourist trap complete with all the tackyness.

Description of PHS
My journey begin ~ my sun-burntlook
you will pass the bridge before you go in further

beautiful waterfall

Bathe in the Japanese-style baths. The thermal pools are available as open air style tiled baths with taps to fill with fresh water. For those who are modest or are wanting privacy, enclosed baths inside little chalet-like shelters are available.

Visit the Butterfly Farm, a short walk with in the park en route to the canopy walk (entrance fee). Note this closes at 4pm, earlier than the rest of the park.
Try the canopy walk and experience a bird's eye view of the surrounding rainforest from about 30-40 metres above the ground (entrance fee). The walking path from the ticket booth to the beginning of the canopy walk is about 1km up hill and is moderately aerobic. It is supposed to be a circuit walking path but damage to the trail means the visitor must double back (July 2007). This pathway is not suitable for those who have mobility restrictions. If you are afraid of heights then do not attempt this Canopy Walk as you will be at risk of getting stuck.

For those keen to explore, trek through the lowland forest to the two waterfalls. Kipungit Waterfall is the nearer and smaller one and can be reached in about 20 minutes, while the bigger Langganan Waterfall ~ No time to stop by to far inside and  takes an hour's hike to get to.
Kepungit Waterfall
I only managed to reached at Kepungit waterfall that's good enough :-). This is part of my traveling story while am in Kota Kinabalu there is more to shout but I can only share in the next entry till then stay tuned and have a good weekend with your beloved ones.

Cheers,
Miss.Tina

BATU SERAI @ LEMONGRASS STONE FOR SALE

Pic from google~x sempat snap

Pictures taken from google ~x sempat snap
Anda pernah dengar mengenai "Batu Serai" ?

2 weeks before CNY , I went to Amcorp Mall in PJ to buy my things and at the same time I do my window shopping as usual. I always go to Amcorp Mall because less crowd and near to my house. While walking I saw one stall selling various of stones and crystals. I was telling to myself this is new and must check it out....eager want to know because from far I can see the shining2 thingy.

The moment I reached the kiosk immediate asked the person in-charge what kind of stones is that. Then he told me that stones known as ''Batu Serai. Then again I asked from where the stones came from ? He said they got it from those pokok serai yang ada bunga. According to the person in-charge you cannot find the batu serai from the normal pokok serai. Only pokok serai with the bunga can do and must do special prayers. This is more to mystic things and only expert person whom really got that knowledge can do the prayers.

Batu Kristal

Encik Efrizal the one with black shirt attending his customers. They sell perfumes and other stuff too.

Selain daripada batu serai dan kristal, anda juga boleh membeli barangan lama seperti keris pusaka dan juga koleksi peribadi.

Ini adalah senarai nama batu yang mengikut bulan kelahiran anda. Mine "Peridot" because I born month of August....month of independence.  For further information about the price or any clarification you may contact Encik Efrizal at 017-388 8729 or else log on to their website www.alhikmah.com.my
